Home Away from Home for Korean Students in New York
Korean Students Association in NY (KSANY) was established in 1998 with the purpose of assisting Korean students who came to the USA to pursue their studies as international students. It is an extension of Korea for those who seek friendly and useful information, and it provides direct help to Koreans in the area. Leaving home and studying abroad can be very challenging and intimidating. Although New York has its great academic advantages for international students, it is hard to settle down and assimilate in a new and unfamiliar place. Many of us got a lot of information from KSANY before and after arriving in New York, regarding housing, places to visit, living in New York and college admissions counseling. It even provides educational seminars and holds events and tours to help Korean students familiarize themselves with American culture such Halloween and Thanksgiving parties, movie nights and Brooklyn Bridge tours. Therefore, this is a go-to-place for many Korean international students.
