The official name of the courts is the Holcombe Rucker Playground, in honor of a Harlem community activist and Parks Department playground director. Before being renamed for Mr. Rucker, the place was simply called P.S. 156 playground. It is located just north of W. 155th St, bounded by Frederick Douglass Blvd. and the Harlem River Drive.
